1. Jibril - Larry King - So, this combo that i put together it’s a mix of former CNN’s talk show Larry King, and a 50’s door to door salesmen…the schemey types.Haha! I got the Ralph Lauren shirt from a friend who didn’t it and I don’t know why. But one man’s loss… is another man’s gain. I just really love the color and that little purple polo logo really makes it better. No? I got these over-sized dress pants(I’m skinny jeans all day, everyday! Haha.) at a thrift store and got inspired to roll them up, from this guy i met once and had done something similar. I love the really fisher/bulk look it gives. And as for the shoes they’re Cole Haan tassel loafers that I got on Etsy. I love the overall look and how old school it looked. Hope you feel me.

  2. Jalan-Residential board kid- So, a friend of mine borrowed my Docs for over a month “Grrr….”, and as soon as i got them back i had to do a look to celebrate our ‘reconciliation’. Ok, that might be too much but this look was a perfect blend between a surfer and a rocker. I added the red bandanna, black jeans, and boots to give of the grimy rocker feel and floral robe, funky tee, and the clubmasters sunglasses to portray that Venice beach surfer style. This wasn’t our scheduled location to shoot but this residence was too clean and symbolized my outfit perfectly so “four pics later” here it was!

  4. Jalan- Calvin Candie - Django Unchained has now become my favorite Tarantino movie because jibril and I are great fans of great dialogue films ; and who doesn’t love an old fashion western “SHOOT OUT”. But enough with the film critique. What really captured my attention was the set dressing. It was so clean and to perfection. But to be specific, it was really Calvin Candie’s outfit and persona that had my attention. This was the first time I had seen a slave owners outfit in Pure HD and the details were to die for. From the fitted vest to his clean hair cut I had to try my best to do a look that resembled Mr. Candie’s style.
So here it goes: My Blazer was thrifted for $7, shoes were borrowed from a friend and so was the vest, and here it was, my Django look was completed. And if you ask me I did a mighty fine job (Calvin Candie voice) haha!
PS: If you don’t know his voice go watch Django!

  5. Jibril - Do the Mess around -Everybody’s doing the mess around! So this is my 50’s dance/ Pic-Nic look. I found this classic knit sweater at the thrift. I love thick knit ANYTHING! It just looks so sturdy and of such refined quality. A nice sweater is always well topped with a nice collar pop-out. So I used this Abercrombie & Fitch plaid shirt under. As for the bottom, the loafers, I had told my brother not to buy them…hmmm…stupid me! We picked them for $9.99 at the Goodwill two days before we found them at a Nordstrom for $250! Can we have a moment of silence for the Goodwill?!………………………………….Amen!
