The 777 tattoo can have a number of meanings - some of these are spiritual and linked to the bible, while others have to do with sheer luck!
Numerology has been around for thousands of years but recently it has been making a comeback with the masses. As a result, I have been asked to design a lot of number tattoos, with 777 at the top of the list. Being the curious sort, I simply had to do a deep dive into the 777 tattoo meaning.
In this post, I am going to introduce you to the origins of 777 and guide you through all the different meanings. Let's get this tattoo party started!
There is certainly more than one spiritual meaning behind the 777 tattoos. Let's begin with the Chinese numerology beliefs.
In China, 7 is considered as a lucky number. This is because it is stylized as 七, which is a symbol of togetherness. According to the principles of Confucius, it is the combination of yin and yang as well as the five elements - earth, wind, fire, water, and metal. It falls into the category of good luck symbols.
Now, when the 7 is repeated 3, it is said to amplify the meaning behind the number. In this case, 777 is said to be lucky symbols for relationships. Due to this, getting this number tattooed on your body three times could indicate that you believe in the strength and bond of your relationship. It could be another way of saying together, forever.
In general, it indicates good fortune in your relationship.
There appears to be a great deal of spiritual significance with 777 for Judeo Christianity. Now, I do want to emphasize that there is no biblical proof for the religious meaning of 777.
Rather, it is simply that many Christians have applied numerous meanings to this symbol based on various readings and assumptions. The number and sometimes 777 is known as the angel number.
One of the reasons that seven and 777 have meaning is because it took God six days to create the world. And, on the seventh day, he rested.
Later on in the bible, it is mentioned that seven priests along with Israelites marched seven times around Jericho, causing the wall to fall down. In Revelations, 7 is used seven times - seven spirits of God were sent to seven churches and John wrote seven letters to these churches.
To add to this, many of the prophecies written in Revelations use 7 many times throughout, implying that the number has significance.
There is also a mention of how after 7 batches of 7 years, each counted in a cycle of 7 days, the servants are freed and all debt is forgiven. Therefore, a 777 tattoo meaning could be an end to suffering and the freedom to pursue your dreams.
Another deeper meaning of 777 tattoo could be due to Lamech, Noah's father. He was said to have lived 777 years. This indicates more than just a lifespan, though. It symbolizes completion or fulfillment. In some instances, it can also indicate a new beginning.
One of the other meanings of the 777 tattoo is that it represents the Holy Trinity - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever wondered:
What does triple cross tattoo mean?
Well, the meaning is the same as that of the 777 tattoo. This is because the three sevens look like three crosses. These three crosses represent the crucifixion of Jesus as well as the Holy Trinity.
Even if you aren't someone who is on board with the spiritual beliefs of the 777 tattoo, you might like to know that it is also one of the most important casino symbols.
See, on the slot machine if you get 777, this is a victorious spin and can translate to a sizable payoff. In short, it is the winning number.
Of course, you don't have to like slot machines for this tattoo to have meaning to you. If you want to invite good luck into your life and want a symbol that says you would like to hit the jackpot, then the number 777 is a good way to do this.
The 777 tattoo is also a great one to get if you feel like you have already won in life.
Keep in mind that these successes don't have to be about money. If you have graduated from your dream school, are following your ideal career, or simply have married the perfect person, and have a great family, these are all reasons to believe that you have succeeded in life.
It could also be how you have attained inner wisdom!
I do need to warn you about the importance of an intentionally styled tattoo. While the meaning of 777 tattoo is largely positive, this number can sometimes be co-opted by the wrong people.
For instance, the 777 tattoo can be styled as a three bladed swastika. This is actually a hate symbol that is used by a white supremacist group and is based off the Nazi symbol used in World War II. Therefore, you should take note of this design and make sure that your 777 number tattoo looks nothing like it.
Here are the various 777 tattoo styles and the meanings behind them:
Are you into basic tattoo styles? If so, then a minimalistic 777 tattoo may be the best option for you. You don't have to worry about the simplicity of this kind of tattoo taking away from the meaning. Thanks to the numerical values, this can still be a powerful tattoo.
Also, just because you would like a minimal design doesnt mean that your 777 tattoo has to be run of the mill. You can still have a lot of fun with this kind of ink, you simply need the right design and the right tattoo artist for the job.
In fact, if you are into that art form, you can even get a neo traditional tattoo. The options are endless!

Now, this tattoo may look like that it has the same design as the minimalistic design, except for one main difference - it is done in white ink. This color is associated with the angel form and purity, making it the perfect choice for your tattoo.

If you want to play around with different tattoo styles, then this is the perfect theme to help you do so. While most tattoos with this theme are going to have a slot machine, you don't have to stick to these images. From dice to cards, there are numerous options to choose from.
You can even dabble with realism - realism tattoos stem from the use of the camera to capture more realistic images. Therefore, you can shift your focus to more authentic representations.
