1. Jalan - Have you ever made love to a Pharaoh? - I’ve been craving for a choker collar, and a tribal bracelet these past few weeks, and when i speak about it around my friends i can tell they’re a bit weirded out by the idea lol. The whole point of this was to wrap up what you see now… an ancient egyptian look that didn’t look like a costume but mixed with contemporary pieces like the skinnies, and loafers - I deliver more of a eccentric modern look still showing off my main inspiration. KING TUT! Hahaha big Thank you to African charm for helping me develop this look with the Jewelry pieces. Get the bracelet here

  3. Jibril - This week has been a bad massage - I needed a new beginning and a new fitted. No, but seriously this week we’ve been packed with shoots upon shoots. Draining but fun! Anyways. So, here is a look that’s kind of something I’ve never done. I loved the overall look because of how “chic” it looks, but this outfit is something, I’d never wear to fashion week.
Here’s why: Fashion week does not mean fur coat. Don’t get me wrong going to fashion week is definitely “THE TIME” to stand out, but after looking through all various street style snaps that we’re taken at the previous fashion weeks (LFW, NYFW, PFW, etc) my hipster senses tingled! Too much fur coats, if you ask me. I think that the anxiety attacks people go through when looking for an outfit for FW, leads them to wear a fur coat saying hey! look I’m “bold”. Then you ain’t that bold because everyone resulted in the same style. Now, don’t get me wrong many of the outfits including a fur coat were stunning, and actually what this outfit was inspired off of. But at the end wear what you want because I’ve never been to Fashion week and if all I had was a fur coat to wear to a fashion week event I wouldn’t be damned.

    Outwear : Fur coat (haha)
Necklace : Nasty gal spike necklace
Shoes : New Oxford off white Dr.martens
Pants - Women’s mint trousers from old navy - Thrifted

  4. Jalan-LXRYNot what i was really going for but, I ended up looking like the only black Captain on the Titanic with some sneakers on. Last time I used my freestyle’s, I went for a really vintage high school student. This time we wanted to go into a more high fashion style and that’s why I love and bought my Reebok freestyle’s cause they can go both ways and beyond! I found this Titanic wannabe blazer at the Goodwill and couldn’t let it got. To be honest it didn’t even fit me but it was only five dollars and the magic of pulling up sleeves is beyond my knowledge! Well, not really it’s actually very simple. It just makes pieces look more fitted “haha”. Then to give it a bit more class I added my gold choker collar. We shot this at The Grove in LA. It’s actually a pretty cool spot, aside from the fact that all I buy there are spanish peanuts then pretend to purchase something at Nordstrom’s and walk out like I’m too cool. When in fact I’m too broke. But no worries some day this lad will be just fine!
